Czaplicki A2 Clay Animal Whistle

These are two examples of my 6th grade sculpture projects. Look at the AWESOME texture on this Grizzly Bear! We transformed a simple half circle shape into these AMAZING animals. Next we will turn them into working whistles.
I love seeing the students use these higher level thinking skills to figure out how to make a lump of clay look and feel like an animal. The students are feeling very successful with this project. Ask them about their whistle!

Kluender A2 Art 6

Art 6 students are working hard to complete their Thiebaud Still Life before the due date next Tuesday :)

Students who are already done are working on their Semester Project. This is a drawing we did of mannequins in class that has "filters" applied to it using different color schemes and materials.

Kluender A2 art 6

Art 6 learned how to create the ILLUSION OF DEPTH by drawings 3D forms instead of 2D shapes. Do you know what the 3 dimensions are in 3D?
They learned how to draw and shade a cone, cube, cylinder, and sphere.

Then, we were introduced to Pop Artist, Wayne Thiebaud. Do you know what Pop is short for? Thiebaud is known for his paintings of cakes and pies. We decided to do a party scene inspired by his work.

Students are using their new knowledge of mixing and blending colored pencils to make tints and shades on their forms. This helps to add more depth into their artwork!
Stay tuned for finished examples! :)
