Students are finishing their circle weavings this week. We used our COLOR THEORY to create either WARM or COOL weavings.
We have been studying the patterns and designs of MANDALAs and we are going to use our CD to be the center of our mandala. We build the pattern out from the center in concentric circles. We talked about make "intricate" patterns. No boring patterns here!
Here is another student wrapping up their weaving.
Here you can see a student using a COMPASS to ensure that his mandala is made up of perfect circles. Learning to use tools like this is a great cross-curricular skill. Students will encounter compasses in classes like math or science.
Here is an almost completed mandala. She is starting to add color designs to her mandala. She is matching the inner part of the mandala to the same color scheme of her weaving. Then, the outer part of the design will flip to the opposite color scheme (warm>cool, or cool>warm.)
